This one is for those of you who are wimps like me, who like nose piercings but don’t want the commitment or pain. It is also for those of you who are like me and are klutzes that are creatively uncoordinated. All three tutorials are super easy, cheap and quick, and the results are super cute. You can also read this post over on Indigo Memoirs.
FAKE PIERCING DIY NUMBER 1:

For this tutorial and the last one, you need a pair of pliers, a pencil or pen, and some wire. I bought two long sticks of florists’ wire from an art store for $1. I would recommend finding some better wire if you want a glossy silver finish as this wire tarnished really badly. Beading wire might work better!

It doesn’t really matter how long you make it as you will trim it down later, but it keep it around 2-3cm.

To get a neat curve, bend your wire around a pencil or pen, and then slide it off.

If the wire length is uneven or too long, cut it down so that the lengths are relatively the same.

Step 4 and 5 get a bit fiddly. Google some images of fake septum piercings to help you visualise what to do. Bend the lengths of the wire backwards to create a curve in the wire on each side. Then, squeeze the loop together so that it closes. By doing this, you make your fake piercing safe and stop it being able to scratch your nose.
And voila, you are done! Just squeeze it once it is in your nose to make it fit and stay.

FAKE PIERCING DIY NUMBER 2:
This DIY is the easiest and my favourite.

All you need is an earring hook and a pair of pliers. You can get the hooks from any craft or $2 store.

Like in the last tutorial, bend the pointy side of the hook into a curve, so that it is a loop.

Squeeze the loop so that it closes, and then you are done! When you put the piercing in your nose, just squeeze the tops together to make it stay.

FAKE PIERCING DIY NUMBER 3:
This last tutorial is for your standard nose ring. This one is slightly harder, but I love how it turned out. This one takes practice!

For this one, it is really important that the wire is as round as possible so that it looks genuine.

Like with the other two piercings, the side that goes in your nose needs to be looped over and squeezed together so that it is safe. Only do this to one side.

This is when it gets harder. You need to estimate where to cut the unfolded side of the wire. This is the part that goes on the outside of your nose. It took me a couple of attempts to get this part right, but aim for cutting the wire so that it is about half the length of the other side.

Because it needs to like the wire goes through your nose and is a circle, put it around the pencil again to ensure that it is perfectly round. If it is too big to stay when you put it in your nose, try tightening it around a smaller pencil.

I would love to see your pictures if you make any of them. Tag me if you do!
